What is the Council of Fiscal and Financial? Lately there is much talk of this body, and many do not have very clear what is and what it does, let's try to summarize briefly.

It is an organ within the Ministry of Finance which is aimed at coordination of State and the Autonomous Communities fiscal and financial, in the following areas:

  1. coordination of budgetary policy of the Autonomous Communities with the State
  2. issuing reports and the adoption of the agreements provided in the Supplementary Act of the General Law of Budgetary Stability
  3. the study and evaluation of criteria for resource distribution from the Settlement Fund
  4. the study, development, where appropriate, and review of the methods used to calculate the cost of services transferred to the Autonomous Communities
  5. appreciation of the reasons that justify, in each case, the perception of the regions of budgetary allocations and equity criteria followed for their involvement
  6. coordination of the debt policy
  7. coordination of public investment policy
  8. in general, every aspect of financial activity of the autonomous communities and the State Treasury, by their nature, required for coordinated action.

Then, if an organ of the Treasury , is why coordination is current? With the crisis, the central government has imposed harsh measures with the regions, and very low budgets to lower the deficit, with goals, for example, Catalonia and Andalusia disagree. Dialog will open and will remain news.
