Jaime Garzón , a lawyer, journalist, humorist, educator, pacifist, political scientist, sociologist, activist, and critic Colombian won the hearts of his countrymen through various programs on television and radio, where he expressed prolifically, with vision and prediction, the daily events of the country. Garzón was murdered on August 13, 1999, allegedly by paramilitary and military leaders, including a former director of the Administrative Department of Security (DAS ). The Colombians remembered in every anniversary of his assassination. More recently, with the increasing use of citizen media, each year his name is again local trend on Twitter and blogs are reactivated to mourn the impunity of his assassination, as does Pastusita in his post "Same as above" . Social Lab Blog criticizes Colombians are "accustomed" to death and reflects on the passivity and impunity in Garzón's death: "Without Forgetting Jaime Garzón." In his blog Thinking without side effects, Cristina Rosa pays homage to Garzón and remember more of their contributions, among which is an effort towards a better awareness of country:
The author of the blog Project D, calling itself the "Desert Fox", calls for building a better country following the legacy of Garzón:
Olga Lucía Lozano in the empty chair Garzón honors presenting the "Garzonpedia" with thirteen of his famous phrases. Lozano concludes with a quote from Garzón Catalina Arbelaez also shares in his blog :
Others have reminded Garzón republishing publications that make traditional media, or sharing videos of YouTube . His memory and his legacy live on in the hearts of Colombians who persist in remembering and for justice on the perpetrators of his murder. Written by Lully · Comments (0)
