Siega Verde zona arqueológica

Siega Verde: World Heritage Site . On August 1, 2010, Palaeolithic all Siega Verde (located in the town of Villar de la Yegua, in the province of Salamanca ), was declared by UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

This archaeological zone of rock art , along the set of Paleolithic art Côa Foz Portuguese, the most prominent of the Iberian Peninsula. It was discovered in 1988 by Manuel Santonja and Rosario Perez, while conducting the archaeological inventory of the province of Salamanca.

This archaeological site has given over 500 s (including horses, deer, aurochs and goats), and, therefore, is the largest enclave of Spain Paleolithic engravings.

Siega Verde

Siega Verde is located on the banks of the River Agueda, and perhaps most amazing is that the rock art found has arrived in full to this day (due primarily to its late discovery), and will, be a World Heritage Site, a title that means it shall be preserved.

Whoever wants to know the site of Siega Verde, may make visits, which are made with a maximum of twenty people, which are accompanied by staff from the manager, the tour, where you will learn, has a duration of thirty minutes.
