After destroying his rivals on Saturday in the Alto de L'Angliru, Alberto Contador returned to their old ways and put more time on his rivals in Sunday's stage, between Oviedo and the Fuentes de Invierno Ski.

After neutralizing a gazillion runners break (at this point the peloton leaves do much) through the work of Caisse Epargne, which wanted a stage win, Carlos Sastre, in the ski resort, tried to escape attack, but was not allowed . However, Ezequiel Mosquera was more successful and only the leader Alberto Contador and his partner (and second overall) Levi Leipheimer could with him. The three went back and got beat Ezequiel Mosquera, who were Alberto Contador and Leipheimer who did not relay. In the absence of a mile, Alberto Contador took an ax and the two came before the goal.

That move was criticized by many fans and director of Xacobeo Galicia, who think that Alberto Contador should have left Ezequiel Mosquera win or at least have given relay. I do not see so clear. In cycling, as in any sport, the smartest wins. Then come the details of lordship and others, but we must also remember that the economic impact stage win in the team. Ezekiel and his team knew they were going to play, but I had to choose or approach the podium or win the stage. He decided the first, missed the stage, but scratch seconds to Carlos Sastre, who arrived 20 seconds later.
