Real Madrid ended the losing streak away from home in the Champions League, which lasted almost two years that had not won even a match, and beat Zenit St Petersburg by 1-2.

Bernd Schuster had said hours before the game that Real Madrid had to win here or in Turin (I suppose for him, the better to win both games and the fans of Real Madrid, so demanding, too). At least one of the two. Mission accomplished. Real Madrid got the win for Russia, which joined the draw for Juventus against BATE Borisov, it leaves as sole leader of the group H.

Real Madrid went ahead on the scoreboard prontísimo. Within three minutes, an own goal from Hubocan put the 0-1 on the scoreboard, in a few minutes in which Real Madrid was a cyclone and could have gotten a couple more goals.

But he did and Zenit put the batteries. So much so that by the 24th minute Arshavin Danny placed a ball and this marked the equalizer. Soon they took back the joy to the Russians, as Van Nistelrooy had a chance and did not waste it, as almost always. And all this in the first half.

For the second part was a monologue of Zenit, who stalked the goal of Casillas at any time from the hand of Arshavin, Danny and Pogrebnyak, but had no luck, all it took for Real Madrid, who is blessed with Iker Casillas and Pepe on defense.
