Unseeded Valencia (specifically Onteniente) Juan Carlos Ferrero will not participate in the Masters Series Madrid 2008 at not having been invited by the organizers, and more than one has already put the outcry to learn.
Juan Carlos Ferrero was born in 1980 and at 18 joined the ATP, to become world No. 1 for two months in 2003, when he won Roland Garros (6-1, 6-3 6-2) with the Dutchman Martin Verkerk and fuel the U.S. Open final (3-6, 6-7 and 3-6), tournament he lost to Andy Roddick. Moreover, that year also won the Monte Carlo Masters. His track record is completed with 11 singles titles, among which also is the Rome Masters Series 2001 (3-6, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2) to Gustavo Kuerten and another Masters Series Monte Carlo in 2002 to compatriot Carlos Moya. In addition, he starred in two Spanish victories in the Davis Cup in 2000 and 2004, against Australia and the USA. He nearly became the third Spanish to take the Masters Cup (which has changed names several times), a tournament where the eight best players of the time fighting for his throne. Was runner-up in 2002 to Lleyton Hewitt (7-5, 7-5, 2-6, 2-6, 6-4). In fact, Juan Carlos Ferrero was the typical player that even if you lose 6-0, 6-0, 5-0, always held out hope that he would overcome. And sometimes he did, his uncle. Well, now Juan Carlos Ferrero, who spends several years in the ATP austere (though Spanish is the sixth in the rankings, ranked 44), will not play the Masters Series Madrid since missed the cut when submitted, and has not received any of the three invitations to the event. This happens when the business is held by all. The first square is assigned gift for Carlos Moya, by popular vote, the second for Marat Safin, who is considered the protege of Ion Tiriac (the world's richest Romanian, and former tennis player, and owner of TMS Madrid) and the third for an Italian, because Safin played the TMS Rome thanks to Ion Tiriac promised an Italian piazza for the TMS Madrid.
