Six months after the great NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, two teams clashed again at the Staples Center, and the Lakers won 92-83 on a good game of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. This victory has dual advantage as Boston Celtics had won the by week 19 games franchise record. The star Kobe Bryant scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists, while the Spanish Pau Gasol scored 20 points, 7 of them in the final three minutes, giving the lead for the Lakers. This had nothing to do with the painful game for the Lakers 131-92 embedded in the title game that gave the Boston Celtics last season. "We've been waiting for this opportunity a long time and we won," said Sasha Vujacic, author of 10 points. "Last year they won the championship, but this is our year." The victory was the 1,000 th of Phil Jackson as coach, becoming the sixth coach in history to do so. His personal record is 1,000 wins by 423 losses in 17 years as coach of Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. It is the fastest coach to get that figure, beating Pat Riley, who needed 11 games over. "It's amazing," said the coach of the Celtics, Doc Rivers. "It is one of the best coaches of all time. I can assure you that I did not overtake that figure. Image | NoSoloDeportes
