The Spanish Rudy Fernandez last night became the first Spanish, and first European (if removed to Dominique Wilkins, who was French but it formed a Yankee university) to participate in the Slam Dunk contest of the AllStar, the SlamDunk Contest. And caught on a good performance.

In the first mate, just after JR Smith did hers, Rudy Fernandez took off his shirt to wear underneath the first European who made the leap to the NBA: Fernando Martin. The U.S. commentators did not understand the gesture of honor to the late former player for the Blazers, even thought it was Ricky Martin, current player of NBA. Then, on screen in the court of the Phoenix Suns, where this year is held this weekend the stars came out the image of Fernando Martin, first in Spanish and European play in the NBA.

Mate de Rudy Fernandez got 42 points, which the board released the ball from behind to crush after a hand. The second mate Rudy Fernandez had the support of Pau Gasol, who flicked the ball behind the basket. Pau Gasol had to throw the ball to the board and then I'd take Rudy Fernandez and would pump in one hand behind the hoop. But both took a lot in Spanish to get connected (in fact, they ran out of time) and the score allowed him by the judges was very low, another 42, to the jeers of the public.

So, Rudy Fernandez ranked last, behind JR Smith, who finished third as it did in 2005. Dwight Howard and Nate Robinson made the finals, which finally win Nate Robinson with a dunk over Orlando Magic center .
