The Eurobasket 2009 will play from 7 September to 20 in the same month in Poland, which will host this event for the first time after having done so already in 1963. Dirk Nowitzki is considering whether to participate so that Germany has less difficulty in becoming a place for the 2010 World Cup.

The European basketball is becoming increasingly competitive and can not leave anything in the air, so the German Dirk Nowitzki, light and beacon of the German team wants to play in Eurobasket 2009 to not lose the opportunity, first to reach the World 2010 (reachable from the mainly European) and then the London 2012 Olympics (where the EuroBasket 2011 will take a lot to say). Recall that to reach the Beijing Games 2008 Germany had to go through a qualifying round a month before the aforementioned games.

The groups for the Eurobasket 2009 and are set (unless a team yet to be classified). These are:

Group A:

Greece, Croatia, Macedonia and Israel

Group B:

Russia, Germany, Latvia and one for classified

Group C:

Spain, Slovenia, Serbia and Britain

Group D:

Lithuania, Turkey, Poland and Bulgaria.

Dirk Nowitzki wants to retire as an international player after the 2012 Olympics, so it is natural to give all for all for being there. Now remains to be seen as other NBA stars attend the appointment. Germany has there with Chris Kaman, nationalized last summer, Britain will be without Luol Deng, Chicago Bulls today, or Ben Gordon, the same squadron, who was born in London.

What NBA players will go to European Spanish? Four years ago Pau Gasol decided to rest and the results were not expected (Spain was fourth and was no medal). Spanish five players now are making career in the Americas, so they decide what they (and their computers) is vital for future selection.
