This year we will see in the MotoGP race to a fixed between the teams. Kawasaki, due to the severe economic crisis that is ravaging the world, announced its withdrawal from the calendar. The year 2009 will be another opportunity to Valentino Rossi to continue making history, after five MotoGP titles (plus 1 in 500 cc, 250 cc and another one in 125). The Italian won the first four editions of MotoGP, which was established in 2002 to replace the old 500 cc competitions to get up to 990cc engine capacity, although in 2007 the maximum was reduced to 800. In 2006, the Italian lost the title in the last race after suffering a fall that left the trump card of American Nicky Hayden. It was the first season that the stranglehold of Valentino Rossi was not so.

The story was repeated the following year, in 2007, at which time the winner was Casey Stoner MotoGP. Valentino Rossi was finally in third place after being behind Dani Pedrosa, who snatched second place in the last race.

Rossi, in 2008, turned into its own, winning the title with three races early. It also beat the historic Angel Nieto in the number of races won (the Spanish she was 90 and Rossi is on the 97th in all competitions) and has managed to win at every track where it has flowed.

This year the spectacle of MotoGP launched on 12 April, and promises, as always, strong emotions.
