Thus, Gerrard will remain the bulwark of the team that raises more sympathy among the Spanish fans. Since beginning his career has been in Liverpool and possibly end there, as the great legends that always play in the club of his dreams. With Liverpool only has stood the Premier League, then in England has won 2 times each of the following glasses: FA Cup, Community Shield, Football League Cup

He has also won a UEFA Cup, a Champions League and two European Super Cups. As individual awards was named Young Player of England in 2001, MVP of the Champions League in 2005, Player of the Year in England in 2006, Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2006, Silver Ball in 2005 and Bronze Ball that year.

Rafa Benitez did not hesitate to express their joy at the news that his star player renewed with the English club:

This is fantastic news for the club. Once Gerrard showed his desire to stay at the club, everything was easy. He wants to stay forever. Clearly, it is a player who inspires those who have around and, although right now is playing very well, (to his 28 years) I think his best years are still to come.
