Among those mentioned are former players several NBA stars. Among them: Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, Scottie Pippen, Cynthia Cooper and the popular American team 92'Dream Team. Magic Johnson, one of the best players in the history of basketball, said he was honored by his nomination. Also were chosen selections from the U.S. Olympic men's 1960 and 1992 All-American Red Heads, first women's professional team of modality created in 1936 in Cassville, Missouri.

"The important thing is not just represent the country, is the essence of what is best in the basket," says ex-athlete Magic Johnson on the event.

To be selected in this category Naismith Memorial Basketball is necessary that the player has withdrawn more than six years and has at least 18 of the 24 votes of Honor Committee, whose decision in 2010 will be defined on April 5 during the Final Four of the NCAA college tournament.

The prize is often peppered with controversy, mostly because the votes are anonymous and the selection process is unclear. Dubbed by many fans the best ever, Michael Jordan, for example, was only elected last year to encourage the suspicions of the skeptics.

The Hall can be integrated for a total of three new teams. Besides the selection of 1992, all the gold in Rome-1960 has also been included among the finalists. This group included such stars as Jerry West, Jerry Lucas and Walt Bellamy among others.
