Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games: China wins first gold

The pair Shen Xue and Hongbo Zhai were leaders in the Winter Olympics. Both athletes achieved the first gold on the ice for China in the Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010 this week.

The Olympics Vancouver 2010 enabled Shen Xue and Hongbo Zhai also show that China could achieve gold after bronze in Salt Lake City (2002) and Turim (2006). The following positions were China and Germany.

As proof of alpine skiing, Didier Defago of Switzerland won the gold medal, edging Norway's Aksel Svindndal Luns and American Bode Miller.

In the category of cross-country skiing, Charlotte Kalla of Sweden, went gold in the 10km freestyle. Kristina left behind Smigun-Vaehi and Marit Bjorergen.

On the trail of Cypress Mountain, the American Sten Wescott was the winner of the gold medal in Snowboard Cross classification.

With regard to Switzerland took three gold medals and so now leads the overall standings at the top honor. Switzerland leads other countries like the U.S. and South Korea for a short distance of just another award.
