One of the greatest responsibilities of Michelin has revealed that the tire maker is in talks with the FIA for a possible return to Formula 1 next year. This decision is motivated alliance after rumors of abandonment by Bridgestone.
If there should be a positive negotiation for both parties, Michelin would be the exclusive tire supplier of the sport of Formula 1. For the deal will be an asset for both will be needed several contractual terms by the FIA. Ever since Bridgestone announced the end of last year he would not renew his contract, the alarm was raised at the race tracks. His contract expires at the end of 2010. Meanwhile, Michelin, Bridgestone's great rival, Tuva open competition in a matter of tires during the period 2001 to 2006. The FIA have scrapped plans to a single manufacturer of all teams since 2008. The return of the French company Michelin as sole supplier of tires could be a reality. One of the partners of the company, Jean-Dominique Sénard asserts he was in formal discussions with the FIA. "We consider that there will be a return, but conditions are still not very clear outstanding," said Sénard.

He says that the return will require changes in the Michelin tire regulations so they can show the performance that can be made in economic terms of fuel and reducing CO2.
