The Davis Cup debut for the Spanish Armada has been quite prosperous, developing a favorable marker but despite suffering that began in the first day after finishing with an uncertain 1 to 1.

Prior to that first date, the team led by Albert Costa had to overcome the surprising decline of Juan Carlos Ferrero, a key for the team.

The Spanish team will seek this year to get the third consecutive crown, after the tight definition in 2008 in Argentina and the crushing 5-0 victory in 2009, against the Czech Republic.

Nicolas Almagro's defeat to Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka's hopes seemed to exhaust the Navy, but in the second round doubles team of Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo managed to claim the status of champion.

The third point disputed David Ferrer showed a precise, strong, winning comfortably 6-2 Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 6-0, to Spain and giving the pass to the quarterfinals, where they will face against France.

The event will take 9 to 11 July, where after 5 years the team will visit to Albert Costa led by Guy Forget, with the hopes of repeating the 4 to 1 that gave them the ticket to the final which ended with the second bowl silver for the Spanish Armada.
