Running over two hours faster than other 15,074 people is a great merit. That was the challenge of the Marathon of Barcelona than by number of participants enrolled and the number of runners had an issue in this 2011 record.
The XXXIII Marathon of Barcelona was won by a Kenyan and a Swede. Among men, the fastest was Levi who used Matebo Omari 2:07:31 to complete the journey. With that record in four minutes helped to bring down his personal brand and beat his compatriot Joseph Langat Kimeli who was second to 2 minutes and 24 seconds.
Among the women, Josephine Ambjörnssson was too far from the current record for the competition is set to 2:30:05. 2:45:31 amounted to be the fastest. As curiosities we point out that of all runners, 45% were foreigners. As data to regret, we note that the Ethiopian-usual favorite specialty-could not participate for problems with his visa.
Anecdotally, we have from us about the athletes of the Maadi club runners train for the revolution had left without power to Hosni Mubarak in Egypt. Presented with a shirt that read "Powered by the Egyptian Revolution" and told they had to train with battle tanks in the middle of the streets of the suburbs of Cairo.
