The day began with the world premiere of South Korea , a team veteran, without much technical quality, which revolves around the star in the country that plays for Manchester United , midfielder Park Ji-Sung.

Precisely through it achieved a fast and accurate game, converting on seven minutes of play (Lee Chun Soo) and closing the match in the 52nd minute with a precise goal Ji-Sung Park, leaving no hope a poor team from Greece out of ideas.

Then came the turn of the favorite of the group B , the selected led Argentine Diego Armando Maradona, who had to measure their strength against a familiar rival, who has faced in the last World Cup, the Nigeria Football Association.

The meeting ended with a victory by one goal for all albiceleste (with an excellent definition of Gabriel Heinze's head) that could have scored more goals but for the excellent performance of Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.

The date ended with a meeting for the Group C between two powers, first the England squad led by Capello and the other set featuring American Clint Dempsey, Fulham FC striker Europa League finalists.

The meeting began with an advantage for the English with a goal from Steven Gerrard after a great assistance Wayne Rooney , and culminated with a slim tie one goal each, caused a serious error by goalkeeper Robert Green.
