So, is already confirmed, Kawasaki will be on the MotoGP grid in 2009, in final talks with the Japanese team Dorna have come to fruition and will be on the grid but with only one bike. Clearly the reduction to only one driver on the grid is the result of negotiation and thus that both parties achieve their goals, you save costs by Kawasaki and have more than 1 pilot by Dorna. Let something like that ... the sheep from entering through the emerging and often said Jose Mota. Who will be especially pleased with this resolution is Marco Melandri who have the opportunity to take his thorn stuck on the Ducati Desmosedici GP8. In Moto22 have the terse press release issued Kawsaki that you put after the jump: "KHI (Kawasaki Heavy Industries) has announced that after constructive talks with Dorna and other stakeholders, a new single-pilot team will participate in the 2009 MotoGP championship. This decision was taken following negotiations that emerged after Kawasaki announced in January 2009, to cease activities in the MotoGP championship, due to the global economic crisis. The pilot for this new team will be Marco Melandri. The team will pay a Kawasaki motorcycle and receive all necessary support materials. The reason that Kawasaki has adopted this new format of a computer in a single pilot, is due to the need for minimize investment in MotoGP and secondly the need to find a solution beneficial to all parties involved. Shortly we will offer more details about the plans of this team for the 2009 season.
