According to sports daily Marca, Lionel Messi would have rejected a bid from Manchester City for 285 million euros to play next season in the Premier League, but club officials, refused to confirm that that version never made such a proposal. "The Manchester City football club wishes to refer to reports circulating in the Spanish press that the club made an offer to Barcelona player Lionel Messi and he rejected the chance to play with the club. And, although we recognize that Lionel Messi is one of the best players in the world, Manchester City wishes to clarify that the club has not made any approach to Mr Messi or their representatives, "says the statement released by the club. It is true that everyone makes mistakes, in my case, are common. I forget a point, an accent, misspell a name, but I know one thing, no lie or invention.
