Sven-Göran Eriksson, fugitive Mexican coach, already has a new job. Starting today, the Swede will serve as sports director of Notts County, the oldest club in the world. The Notts County, who is presently in the English fourth division, was founded in 1862 and the last time he was in the elite of British football was in season 1991 to 1992.

How can a club you get to the fourth category Eriksson price? Very simple: with foreign investment. From the Middle East, to be precise. Notts County is one of a team injected with petrodollars. There is speculation that Sven will earn about two million euros per season. While not responsible for the technical, Eriksson will almost plenipotentiary power over hiring and public relations. Let's see how they leave the experiment.

Incidentally, the BBC World note on the appointment of Swedish has brought me a smile: "One wonders whether the new owners of Notts County are very ambitious, or if Eriksson has a special talent for finding employment." You believe what?
