The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has decided to ban high tech suits for races from 2010. 168 countries voted for this measure, including the U.S. unexpectedly. Since that 1996 would approve the use of costumes similates polyurethane and other materials, records are short-lived.

This measure means goodbye to full body suits. According to the new measures, bathing suits from competitors can not cover under the knees or above the waist. Michael Phelps is in favor of the decision, although it has won a number of superlatives with its high-tech suits . The controversy also erupted over the validity of the records. FINA concluded that the marks remain in force.

I am in favor of technology implementation in sports, but not when they involve some extra help to unbalanced competition. It seems fitting that swimming back to the basics. Perhaps Phelps's reign will not fall, but the fight for second and third places will be closed. A pity that no records are invalidated. As we will see next year how much was the man, not the suit.
