The Argentine football is suspended momentarily by the serious crisis affecting it. Most clubs are locked in a tough monetary situation. They hire expensive players, contracts that promise to Argentine football (and South America) are unreachable, then do not pay, borrow, and if not sold for several million, they find it almost impossible to survive. Already a couple of weeks ago Sergio Marchi, the secretary general of Argentine footballers Guild members (a guild that takes care of claim for wages and rights of the players), said the Argentine clubs have a liability (debt) of 40 million pesos somewhat less, until it was paid, precluded the football boot. Immediately, the president of the AFA, Julio Grondona, began looking for solutions to this problem. Don Julio decided to pressure TyCSports (owner of TV rights to football Argentino), asking for 500 million pesos (in addition to putting 268 million each season), a situation to which the priests of the TV station did not agree. The service offered TyCSports can see five games by paying the cable subscription. To see the other half of the encounters, you must pay a small amount of about thirty dollars. Seeing that Cs was not going to give you what the AFA president and FIFA vice-president asked the Argentine government made an offer irrechazable. Between 500 and 600 million pesos annually offers the Kirchner government by televising. Thus, Channel 7 (public TV), offer games for free for all and each of its inhabitants. Grupo Clarin, the largest multimedia Argentina, lose one of its strongest products and lose exclusivity of Argentine football, if it finally succeeds Grondona terminate the contract at the AFA league with tournaments and competition until 2014. It is sad to see a country full of problems, where insecurity, drugs and poverty are rife, the top leaders of our country decide to spend this fortune on football, having other priorities more important. Spending 500 million dollars to win a new battle against Grupo Clarin, a bitter rival of Kirchener, seems an epic where you view it. Football is beautiful, it's passion and love, but after all is just a sport. Other issues should top the list of problems that the government should solve. But of course, is easier to resort to "panem et circe (the Roman emperors, to preserve itself in power, entertained the people with bread and circuses) and evade the urgent problems facing the country and people. The K want football to keep people busy and entertained. Meanwhile, thousands die every day by not having to eat, or insecurity, which is not a simple feeling sad as our leaders say ... The show must go on ... Photo: Daylife
