Chelsea took the Community Shield against Manchester United in a game that eventually defined the penalties. Before the game, the stadium was a fitting tribute to Sir Bobby Robson, legendary coach happened last week.

Despite having started dominating, Chelsea got the first goal of the meeting of Nani, who little by little is emerging as the replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. A draw would come through Ricardo Carvalho after a decline of goalkeeper Ben Foster. Minutes later, Frank Lampard culminate to give a counter-electronic tumbling, but at a discount, Wayne Rooney end a genius of Ryan Giggs for sending the game to penalties. Already in the foul shots, the errors of Giggs and Evra meant the downfall of Manchester United.

Three highlight details. First, evolution as a winger Nani, who seems to win (for now) heading to Antonio Valencia. The Cape Verde has enormous potential, and at least help that Cristiano Ronaldo will not miss much. Second, the struggle for the framework in Manchester (and selection) remains open. Foster Interventions had a couple good, perhaps, that reach to take the title with the Red Devils, but you can forget about winning the hand by hand with Manuel Almunia. Third, Ancelotti's Chelsea promises to battle in the league and in Europe. Nothing unusual, of course, but this year I see more oiled machinery. Good balance for a small cup, which left us a welcome aperitif and more hungry for football.
