United States is serious. The American federation has submitted a document with the names of 27 sites that meet the requirements to host the FIFA World Cup 2018 or 2022. The Yankee proposal gains strength ahead of December this year, when countries will be formalized organize tournaments.

The project competes with other ten sighing: Australia, South Korea, England, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Qatar and Russia, besides the joint candidacies of Spain-Portugal and Holland-Belgium. The U.S. has ample opportunities to achieve their goal , especially for 2022. The FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said he wants the World Cup back to Europe in 2018. The strongest candidates are Russia and England, since the hierarch of FIFA not welcomed organize a World Cup again in tandem. Russia is a good cash injection, while England would arrive with the inertia of the 2012 Olympics.

For 2022, the competition is more open. If the cup back to Asia, Australia looks like a strong candidate, while it is difficult for Japan or Korea received a vote of confidence following the failure of 2002 (and drag around Indonesia). The money from Qatar gives theoretical possibilities, but it seems difficult for petrodollars to buy the nomination.

If the World Cup CONCACAF will, little can compete with the U.S. Mexico. U.S. Infrastructure is higher and their logistics, plus three world for the same country it would be too unbalanced. The strongest argument in favor of Mexico's football tradition. Can a candidate win based on that unique value added? Sure. Germany beat South Africa in 2006 due to Asian fiasco. But barring that scenario, the U.S. has the upper hand by 2022. Since we shall know in December.
