Kenton

Unexpectedly, Rodrigo Kenton has been sacked as coach of national team of Costa Rica. Personally, I hoped that the strategist's head rolled, but three straight losses have cost him his job. If leading, the Costa Rican team has moved to fourth place in CONCACAF, which gives itself the right to contest their ticket to the fifth of CONMEBOL. The problem is that this could be the ailing rival Argentina, which in name and theory is greater than the red.

From my perspective, there were sufficient grounds to dismiss Kenton. The Federation has rushed tica. The technician came out with a record of 16 wins, four draws and five defeats. However, the last three falls (including those thrashings against Honduras and Mexico) force Costa Rica to score their best to escape the play-offs. The schedule affords him a clash with the Trinitarians in San Jose, and a complicated visit to the U.S. on the final day. The struggle focuses on Honduras, and Mexico has a calendar very affordable, and the U.S. just go to playoffs with losses to the Hondurans in San Pedro Sula and against the Ticos on U.S. soil.

It sounds more candidates for the bench Costa Rica, among which include the Mexican Enrique Meza, current coach of Cruz Azul, Ricardo Lavolpe, Mexico's former strategist and now helmsman of Atlas, and Jose Pekerman, former coach of the albiceleste and Toluca. Others who are referred are Hans Westerholf, who led the years to the Chivas of Guadalajara, and Leo Beenhakker, who led Trinidad and Tobago at the 2006 World Cup. Who will have the responsibility to lead Costa Rica to South Africa?
