interliga

Puebla and Monterrey are the first teams invited to the Interliga, scam the tournament that gives access to Mexican clubs to the Copa Libertadores. The Mexican Football Federation has decided to compensate with this "distinction" following the refusal of CONCACAF to participate in the Copa Sudamericana this year. Thus, royal and poblanos comprising the group of eight teams will fight for two passes for maximum club fair in the Americas.

So the coming year we will see played Puebla on and scratched the ticket at the Libertadores, while the Monterrey has a chance to qualify directly as if it is first or second in the overall standings. It is recalled that the pass is awarded the tournament leader, but since they played the Concachampions Toluca, Monterrey team should only keep pace with the choriceros.

Neither team was overly excited to play in the Interliga. First, because it is a right that had already won both. The Interliga takes, in theory, the top eight ranked the last year (discounting Concachampions participants) and Puebla and Monterrey both meet the criteria. So the prize of the FMF is just pure gruel with his finger, a way to give a superficial apology for past mistakes. Nothing unusual in Mexican football, of course.
