Saprissa

In case you wondered what was the hegemon of the twentieth century team in CONCACAF, the Federation has given such an honor to Saprissa of Costa Rica. I am sure that many Mexicans feel offended (yes, we sin mexicocentristas), but the counting of the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) and endorses it. Moreover, many were pasted into the ego that Mexico only has three representatives in the top ten: Necaxa (7), Cruz Azul (8) and America (10).

The Purple Monster rightly takes the prize. Tico is the only team that has six consecutive national championships, and the largest number of local leagues (28). At continental level, his resume includes three Champions Cup CONCACAF (1993, 1995, 2005), five Interclubes UNCAF Nations Cup (1972, 1973.1978, 1998 and 2003), among many others. His most recent significant achievement was the conquest of tecer place in the Club World Cup in Japan in 2006. Since 2003, following which was bought by Jorge Vergara, the only aligned Saprissa of Costa Rica players.

The ranking is completed by CONCACAF Olimpia of Honduras (2), Communications (3) and Muncipal (4) of Guatemala, the Transvaal Paramaribo, Suriname (5), Alajuelense tico (6), the Aztecs Necaxa (7 ) and Cruz Azul (8), the Alliance of El Salvador (9), and the Americas (10) of Mexico. Congratulations to the fans of Saprissa for the reward!
