Carlos de los Cobos, honor to whom honor is due

Carlos de los Cobos, coach of El Salvador, will receive recognition as a Noble Friend of El Salvador Salvadoran hands of Congress. Some might consider that a strategist exaggerated even managed to qualify his pupils to the World Cup even deserve a compliment, but the work of Mexican strategist with selectivity can only be described as outstanding.

Those steeped in the lean mean level for CONCACAF footballing merit. Historically, the powers of the Central American region have been Honduras and Costa Rica. In recent years, only a remarkable generation of Panama had made a noise. Now, from the hand of de los Cobos, El Salvador not only reached the final Hexagonal (outstanding for a football situation devoid of honors) but retained a mathematical chance to gatecrash the play-offs. Indeed, Salvadorans lost their move to give two separate draws in the Cuzcatlán to Trinitarians and Yankees.

Invariably, the success goes by renewal. This has been witnessed on this occasion with the generation of Honduras Reynaldo Rueda directed with a Venezuela that has amazed with his development, or with young Ticos who have gotten into the kitchen at the World U-20 Egypt. Will the next time for Brazil 2014, what is sown is harvested. De los Cobos wants to be there, to try again to get a historic qualification to the World Cup. So far, to applaud the work that the foundation is to build up. Credit where credit is due.
