The participation of Mexico in the Copa America in 2011 (and its subsequent editions) hangs by a thread. CONCACAF has not given approval for selection dispute Aztec oldest football competition in the world. The pretext given was the UEFA Cup before submitting a proposal for any team competing in a tournament outside his confederation. Although it has been said that this new resolution had nothing to do with the final decision, the inclusion of Tri in South American competition is on hold. Concacaf that Mexico does not want to participate in competitions of CONMEBOL's a fact. The entry of the Mexican national team at Copa America, and Mexican teams in Libertadores and Sudamericana has been the fruit of arduous negotiations between the FMF and CONMEBOL. The relationship has had ups and downs, but generally, South America opens its fields to the Aztec share, based on three arguments. First, the Mexicans are always competitors who add to the tournament level (just remember the runner-up in Mexico in 1993 and 2001 Copa America, or the Blue Cross Libertadores, also in 2001). Second, Conmebol get a strong economic spillover from the Mexican sponsors, as well as increased television coverage. And third, the club encourages participation Aztecs are set further in South American players, often signing up their teams, as the case of Enrique Vera (Liga Deportiva America) or Humberto Suazo (Colo Colo of a Monterrey) . CONCACAF now has put the handbrake. The excuse was the refusal of Sao Paulo and National travel the country to contest the knockout phase of Libertadores, during the influenza outbreak AH1N1. This situation led to the departure of Chivas and San Luis de la competition, and consequently, there was a rift between confederations. Eventually, they reconciled, but the damage was done. Concacaf took the position of South American clubs to prohibit play Monterrey and Puebla Sudamericana. Even the decision was taken to remove any that power Mexican team. The picture does not look encouraging. CONCACAF wants to give more weight to his tournament, infumable Concachampions. I see no evil Mexicans requiring more seriously, but uncomfortable to do so by avoiding punitive actions soccer growth. Now, with the idea of UEFA, endangered Mexican participation in the America's Cup, a competition from which even thought it would host in 2015. If Mexico out of this competition, they will have lost the most important touch is. And then, now I would have to consider the break. Will we see the first step toward an impending change in the geography of American football?
