Recently it has been reported that New Zealand will be another rival Mexico as prior preparation for the World Cup in South Africa. The party will be held on March 3, the only FIFA date of the first half of 2010. New Zealanders sought the Aztec team as a synod for his resemblance to Paraguay (?). In addition to the Guarani, the All White share group with Italy and Slovakia, while Mexico is framed with South Africa, France and Uruguay. The media in general, have jumped to say that this will be a molero party, a gathering of filling. The truth is that if we look at the FIFA ranking, New Zealand is below teams like El Salvador, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago (but curiously, two places above South Africa). But Mexico should not be trusted and see the ocean over my shoulder. Two important things can make the Tricolor of this party. On the field, improve the defense in the passing game. New Zealand is a team that plays very well at the top, and Mexico would need to improve much in that aspect (especially William Ochoa, whose weak point is the output from free-kicks). But more importantly, Mexico should reinforce what it means to be professional. El Tri must be made of the role of diva and treat every opponent (however small) with respect football. Understand that deserves the same sweat a game against New Zealand to the Netherlands or England, because if you do not learn that lesson, Mexico will remain a selection that grows with the giant and is complicated by the small. Yes, on paper, the game against New Zealand has no significance and value in the field, but is an excellent opportunity to correct a historical complex. Looking at the professionalism with which England is to Mexico as a rival, not the danger they represent, but because we must try to honor contender, large or small. And that is a lesson slope of Aztec football.
