Rafael Márquez, "at Genoa?

Days short of information, which outweigh the rumors and speculations in the soccer world. The latest gossip comes from Italy, where some media talk of interest from Genoa to take the services of Rafael Marquez. It is not the first time the Mexican defender is placed in the crosshairs of some Italian team, since in the past there has been talk of interest from Milan, Juventus or Fiorentina.

Apparently, the interest of Genoa comes after signing David Suazo, Honduras attacker coming from the Inter. Recall that the Genoese campus has, besides the Honduran, a trio of high level Argentine Luciano Figueroa, Hernan Crespo and Rodrigo Palacio.

In my opinion, Marquez is fixed in Barcelona. Although of late has been harshly critical of the player, Rafa is one of the trusted men of Pep Guardiola, especially for its polyfunctionality in the field. The coach has asked the Mexican contract extension until 2012 and, today, is an important part of the scheme of European champions. Marquez usually functions as a central defender, but also a warranty replacement containment. With the African Nations Cup over, I doubt that Guardiola wants to escape his best card to supply Yaya Toure.
