enrique-Esqueda

A reader commented that Enrique Esqueda is one of the most undervalued player in Mexican soccer. I agree in part, because the palette has had an outstanding performance in the new scheme of Jesús Ramírez, being used as a means by right and not as a center forward. If Esqueda has signed an honorable campaign (even being called to the Mexican national team), why do we keep seeing him with so much despair, giving so little credit? All goes back to a painful time, a watershed in the history of a promising generation: one March 16, 2008.

Esqueda is part of the players who failed in the Olympics. This party, this rout useless, meant the end of the helmsman was Hugo Sanchez as Aztec. But in turn, became cross and stigma of a generation that hoped to qualify for the Beijing Olympics. I will review the five players who scored on that occasion: Enrique Esqueda, Santiago Fernandez, Edgar Andrade, Cesar Villaluz and Luis Angel Landin: ** Carson football players who took us

Let's start by Enrique Esqueda. At Palette, struggled to recover from this bitter pill, although it has been that has fared better. Esqueda continued to play the Americas, although in the center forward position. Ruben Omar Romano used it as a battering ram at the expense of Federico Higuain and Richard Nunez, however, soon answered as a companion of Salvador Cabanas. Its resurgence has been due to the hand of Jesus Ramirez, by dint of being relocated as a midfielder on the right. That is, Esqueda had to relocate to the countryside to get a second chance.

Villaluz

On with Cesar Villaluz. The midfielder has been found either in the first team Cruz Azul. However, little by little has lost his star shine. If a breakthrough with the Mexican U-17, Villaluz has found a comfort zone with the cement. It is practically wiped off the Tricolor, and if you check your numbers, we see that the player did not score a single goal during the regular season. Although there is no denying its quality, has become a duty to the expectations created in the beginning.

Another lost is Edgar Andrade. The skilful winger came from a pompous injury, and although he had regained much of its level, its dismal performance against Haiti in a pothole Preolímipico meant that it would not emerge. He gradually disappearing from the usual box with Cruz Azul, until Enrique Meza left him virtually gathering dust on the bench. It has now come to a club class as cement, to call at Jaguares de Chiapas to the Bicentennial 2010.

Santiago Fernandez also was affected by the episode of Carson. The striker was loaned out to America to play Toluca loan. With the Red Devils did little, a situation that drove him to move on. In 2009 was signed by Puebla, team you saw a few minutes. He continues to militate in Puebla on the whole, but coach Sánchez Solá has pretty much wiped off the campus.

Finally, there is the case of Luis Angel Landin. One of the most promising strikers in Mexican soccer, which even came close to going to Germany 2006 with the team, he is now in the MLS with the Houston Dynamo. After the Morelia military, was sold to Blue Cross, where little could do as an attacker (unless a goal of extraordinary manufacturing that earned him Puskas Award nomination). Now try to make a name in the American League, although their chances of call are minimized.

Do you remember a similar case?
