Oscar Pistorius, a South African leg amputee athlete who intends to run with prosthesis in Beijing Olympics, appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport decision of the A ssociation of Athletics Federations International, about unable to compete against athletes without difficulties since the carbon fiber is attached to his legs offer advantages over their rivals. "I am filing this appeal not just for myself but for all disabled athletes. We deserve a chance to compete at the highest levels if our bodies permit us, "said Pistorius. A Pistorius, 21, both her legs were amputated at age 11 because he was born without his fibula. According to the sprinter, examinations carried out on their prostheses are inadequate, and these do not provide any benefits. Of course the report submitted by the International Association of Athletics Federations says that these prostheses do represent a significant advantage, ruling that the townships should be empowered to compete in Beijing as well as any other event covered by the body. A second study by Professor Peter Bruggeman of the German Sports University, found that Pistorius is on par with athletes without prosthetics. Is credited with a gold medal and a bronze at the 2004 Athens Paralympics. Via: Yahoo
