In recent years, said that the Eastern Conference is easy to get to the playoffs. And not without reason, because if any team qualifies with record negative (more defeats than victories). When there is a team that dominates teams West, this team has all the ballots in achieving one of the best, if not the best places for the playoffs.

This applies to the two leaders, who have the two best record in the league. Boston Celtics, the team's famous trident, which seeks to regain the hegemony of the franchise that has more championship rings (16) but it makes a eternity which has not won one, leads the standings with a 44-12 mark. And the trio Garnett - Pierce-Allen trio is much. The main problem: it does not arrive in good condition to play-offs or suffering a major injury of one of their reputations.

Three parties of difference separating the Detroit Pistons, the team that likes to defend and unsettles its rivals (and viewers). But the tactic works, and so they won the last ring, overturning the Lakers. Maintain a powerful bloc with Billups, Prince, Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace.

Behind them march Orlando Magic, who began sweeping but little have been deflating. Still, Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu up next to the star Dwight Howard, a set that can aspire to everything.

In fourth position we find Cleveland Cavaliers, the reigning champions of the conference, which has suffered a major refurbishment the last day on which transfers could be made. LeBron James will continue to lead the team. We'll see if their new squires can repeat success.

In fifth place are the Toronto Raptors, who have suffered several setbacks in recent weeks. Still, it's a solid block and not have problems to qualify for playoffs.

Washington is in sixth position, remaining low in spite of Caron Butler and, above all, Gilbert Arenas, who has barely played this season, but it would be a great help for playoffs.

The final berths for the postseason occupy Philadelphia Sixers and New Jersey Nets (without the flagship of the last seasons, Jason Kidd). We'll see if they can stay in these places because behind them there are five teams (Atlanta, Indiana, Chicago, Milwaukee and Charlotte) spaced by only 4 games.
