The brand-new slam dunk contest runner-up is currently without a club after being cut by Houston Rockets.
Gerald Green has not got off the ground in the last two teams he has played. Theirs is a story of rejection, while the Celtics had a good performance. Gerald Green is one of many players who have not been in any university to finish in the NBA, which is not entirely pleased commissioner David Stern (who wanted to introduce an age limit to play in the NBA). In its first year of high school was "cut" due to their poor academic results and was transferred to Gulf Shores Academy in Houston, where he averaged in his last year of star numbers: 33 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Once there he won the Slam Dunk contest of the All-Star High School. With half a missing finger, then pinky is missing half. In 2005 was selected by the Boston Celtics, but did not have many minutes and finished in the Development League NBA (a league that used to allow teams to players not even worthy of the NBA to grow, play minutes, and improve as players). In February he returned to the discipline of the Celtics and the following season, 2006-2007, averaged over 10 points per game. I get the All-Star 2007 and faced Gerald Green Nate Robinson (defending champions at that time), Tyrus Thomas and Dwight Howard. Gerald Green won the competition to be imposed on Nate Robinson in the final, and kept his record intact. I've never lost a slam dunk contest during which it participated, all won. But in the summer of 2007 was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the transfer that brought Kevin Garnett to the Celtics. He was traded along with Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Theo Ratliff and Sebastian Telfair. In Minnesota Timberwolves did not win too much and after the slam dunk contest (he lost his throne in favor of Dwight Howard - without a mate ... -) was traded to Houston Rockets in exchange for Kirk Snyder. Houston Rockets played only one game before being "cut off" the last day 8. Image: Flickr.com
