A little over a month (18-19 games) to finish the regular season, we already have our first two qualifiers for play-offs: Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.

Boston Celtics, with the best record in the league (51-12, sweeping), have won the playoff ticket and safely (except slaughter) will play with advantage in all play crossing. The trio of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen (we're sick of hearing about them this season) is fulfilling its purpose and have allowed just 12 losses. Moreover, they streaking (leading 10 victories in a row) and if injuries do not prevent it, are on track to run over anyone who crosses his path.

It is likely that the team with more championship rings (16) get another this year after a long time.

The other team already qualified for play-offs are the Detroit Pistons. With the second best record in the league (46-18) are preparing to give a lot of trouble for the umpteenth consecutive year (with Billups, Hamilton, Price, and Wallace).

We also have already the first teams that reach or with a miracle play-offs. All from the Western Conference, while the worst team in the league (Miami Heat) plays in the East. The three eliminated are: Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies and Seattle SuperSonics. These three, along with Miami, will fight for the No. 1 draft pick next year.
