When Pau Gasol joined the Lakers, everyone agreed that the order would have a strong man in the paint that Gasol could be dedicated to what he likes best: score, pass, dribble in the paint, etc.. But the dirty work actively defend and rebound, (in this facet Pau has always been "soft")

This player in question was Andrew Bynum, a player who was selected in the 2005 draft by LA Lakers without going through the university. He became the youngest player playing in a game NBA to do so with 18 and 6 days. Right now is 20.

In this his third season was doing a superb season with 13.1 points per game and 10.2 rebounds, injured when he fell. Last season did some averaging 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds, which made him a serious candidate for MIP (Most Improved Player).

Now, Bynum, has announced that it will complete its recovery from the injury he suffered on January 13. It was initially thought to come back in March, then in early April, and now will not play again until playoffs.

Not that the Lakers need Bynum to qualify for play-offs, but if you could use the young center back a little early to warm engines before the big event. However, it is better not to force the machine as many times to force a player ends up being an eternal injured, Bynum and he is a great career ahead.
