The Western Conference is tightened more

Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets continue their struggle. The first two posts to keep their playoffs and Denver to try to get one.

This morning they played the three teams. Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets faced in a direct duel. Dallas had to appeal to the heroic leader without Dirk Nowitzki, who will miss the next two weeks of competition minimal. And he could be: Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony combined to score 63 points between the two utility and completely nullified the 30 points from Josh Howard.

Although Dallas dominated until the break, the third quarter suffered a real beating (16-34) and Denver Nuggets won the game.

In another of the three games that were played this morning, Golden State Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers, who is approaching mathematical elimination. Stephen Jackson was erected hero by scoring 24 points (4 of 7 triples). Golden State thus maintains the eighth position in the Western Conference.

The classification of these three posts is as follows:

7. Dallas Mavericks: 45-27, 10 games.
8. Golden State Warriors: 44-27, 11 games to play.
9. Denver Nuggets: 44-28, 10 games.

Half game difference between each team. Golden State plays its next two games (Saturday and Sunday) against Dallas and Denver. If successful in winning those two games will have taken a big step towards qualifying for the playoffs.
