It was an open secret. The Seattle SuperSonics rookie forward Kevin Durant has won the award for best newcomer of the 2007-2008 season.

Kevin Durant got 90 votes for first place in the 125 possible, staying ahead of Al Horford (who caused the injury to TJ Ford) and Luis Scola, who finished third. Sonics rookie averaged 20.3 points, third-best mark for a rookie after Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James, and led the statistical rookie in five sections: points, plugs, theft, free throws and hit percentage in free throws .

While many preferred to Al Horford, who has helped his team to get into playoffs, Kevin Durant has emerged with the trophy, although a team like Seattle (which first sees one of their players wins. Something good before they cease to have NBA franchise ...) I could have done much better. However, this year has been one in which more obviously knew the winner. In fact, it happened in the preseason when Greg Oden was hurt seriously on the campaign.

Our Juan Carlos Navarro finished in sixth place with 3 votes for third place.

Kevin Durant joins the group consisting Selectro Brandon Roy, Chris Paul, LeBron James, Emeka Okafor, Pau Gasol, Vince Carter, Tim Duncan, Grant Hill, Allen Iverson, Shaquille O'Neal, Michael Jordan and many others. Come on, Kevin Durant will become a reference star in the league.
