Scanning the horizon of the Internet I discovered a very interesting article explaining in detail the operation of the Netherlands finals. Encarezidamente recommend reading.

The fact is that there is just the "regular phase" in which you decide the league champions and who will go directly to the Champions League of 18 teams comprising the league and the rest of Europe (1 for the preliminary the Champions, 4 for UEFA and for the Intertoto) they have to gain some playoff teams a bit peculiar.

Can you imagine this system in place in the LFP? I'd like to see something like that in Spain, although I always imagined a league with playoffs "normal", ie the winner was done with the league title. These playoffs that would be raised to the Netherlands in Spain would work otherwise, since the places assigned UEFA our teams are different. But try to imagine what would these playoffs, based on the final ranking of the first division we know from yesterday.

Real Madrid play the Champio directly to be champion.

Villarreal, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla would fight for the three remaining Champions League places. Sevilla will face Villarreal over two legs and the winner of this tie will face the winner of the Barcelona - Atletico. Then a final over two legs and the winner would enter the Champions League for the fast track. The runner and the winner of the 3rd and 4th place, would enter the qualifying round.

He who fails to place for the Champions of the four teams would go directly to UEFA, together with another team to come out of a playoff between four, following the league tables: Racing Santander, Mallorca, Almeria and Deportivo. The winner of these playoffs would also provide UEFA and runner-up to the Intertoto.

The square of the remaining would be for the UEFA Cup champion.

Would you like this system? I would give much substance. All I see a monumental failure, and is that the team is ahead in the table has no advantage, and that is an injustice towards the work done throughout the campaign.
