The NBA Live tonight one of the most important days of the season. And is not due to a match (also played Pistons against Celtics).

The NBA Draft is the system whereby the newcomers entering the league (not always, but the majority inmensísima). If you have ever wondered how it works, we will explain briefly.

The NBA is a closed league teams do not have quarries such as the Real Madrid Castilla with Real Madrid. The players go to the League via the draft. What is this? A selection of players who want to enter the league.

What are the players entering the draft? All Players under 22 years or those who want to present younger. A player under 22 years can not be chosen if it has not been declared eligible. A player of 22 years can be selected by any team.

How do you select teams? This is where the draw comes into play tonight. In order to have maximum possible competition in the League (see articles on transfers of players), the NBA ordered the teams have priority to select rookies, so that the team with worst record this season is more likely to first choose a player. Imagine that: all prospective rookies put on a wall and across the 30 teams in the NBA. It bypasses the order of election and the teams will choose a player following his shift.

How does the lottery? As mentioned, the worst team has a better chance of achieving first place of choice, namely 25%. It is a weighted lottery. Following the results of this season, the thing is well ahead of the draw tonight. The number that computers next door is the percentage chance of being awarded the No. 1 draft pick. Not only bypasses the first place, all positions involved in the weighted lottery.

1. Miami Heat (25)
2. Seattle Supersonics (19.9)
3. Minnesota Timberwolves (13.8)
4. Memphis Grizzlies (13.7)
5. New York Knicks (7.6)
6. LA Clippers (7-5)
7. Milwaukee Bucks (4.3)
8. Charlotte Bobcats (2-8)
9. Chicago Bulls (1.7)
10. New Jersey Nets (1.1)
11. Indiana Pacers (0.8)
12. Sacramento Kings (0.7)
13. Portland Trail Blazers (0.6)
14. Golden State Warriors (0.5)

What about the other teams? The teams qualified for playoffs are ranked according to the regular season. Boston Celtics will be the last to choose.

What if a player of 22 years is not elected? Then he could negotiate with any NBA team in the future. Nor are many of these cases, as the NBA scouts are all pretty tied. Sometimes, however, comes a case Garbajosa, for example.

What if a player is selected by a club that is not interested? Tease, simply. The player enters the league with the team that signed him. Period. It becomes good for the League to fulfill his contract and becomes a free agent. That itself can not go to the team, but you can not go to another unless it is transferred. That is, can play outside the NBA. A player is not forced to play in the NBA just because of entering the draft.

Most prominently Steve Francis, who was elected by the Vancouver Grizzlies (now Memphis) and refused to go sulk. He was eventually traded to the Houston Rockets.

I hope I have solved some doubts.
