The young spirit of Antonio McDyess re-emerged in a key moment in the tie to make it 2-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals. McDyess played his best game of the playoffs in a decade, scoring 21 points and retrieving balls under the basket 16. Thus, the 33-year-old who has lived a career plagued by injuries, never let a broken nose to rumple the playoffs.

Now the series shifts back to Boston to play the fifth game. After return to Detroit, and if the tie remains 3-3, the seventh and final game will be played in Boston (as all qualifying games for the Celtics).

The Big Three of Boston did not play anything right. Garnett and Pierce scored 16 points apiece and Ray Allen sat in 11 measly points. In Detroit, on the contrary, Richard Hamilton with 20 supported McDyess and Rasheed Wallace scored 14. Jason Maxiell, a reserve of 6 points and 4 rebounds in his career, unhinged to Kevin Garnett on defense and dropped the ball on offense with 14 points.
