The Spanish selection returned to the top of a contest after 44 years of drought. Spain won 1-0 to Germany and became champion of Europe. Finally. Since 1964, we did not win anything and the beautiful game was our unresolved. For the rest, Spain had reached the top. Football can be removed and the complex. These players, young, short and with a great quality to have pulled one country to the top. And how. Nothing physical play. Nothing balonazos the air. All technical and quality. A ballroom dancing. A tiki-taka that kept the other teams chasing the ball. A ball that ended four times in the back of the net after a touch of Villa, scorer flagrant without playing the final. The match began with German owner of the ball. Little do they lasted. Just what took him to Spain and settled in the area. As Marcos Senna was lord of the center, Spain began to play what he knows: soccer. Fernando Torres headed the rebound to the stick and did not go down, unfortunately, at the foot of any Spanish that passed by. No problem. It was a prelude of what would happen. And soon to pass. Xavi put a ball to Fernando Torres who was ahead of Lahm and lifted him above Lehmann. The ball, slow to German agony, ended in the net. A goal that was worth a trophy. A goal that lifted an entire country. Spain could not sentence in the second half and the Germans had very good few minutes. But they did not score. There was the Hispanic advocacy. They could not do more because they fall almost 3 goals in no time. Sergio Ramos headed in a beautiful heart but cleared Lehmann. Xavi tried Frings but pulled away from the ball because he had been at the near post. Iniesta, in a joint move with great Cazorla (what crack this Cazorla) ran back to Lehmann. Had time for anything, but it was not. Germany could not be with us. Germany lost the final. Spain's win. Spain, winner of Euro 2008. Image: Euro2008
