The longest stage of this Tour de France (over 230 miles) was perfect to reach the sprint. But a break of more than 200 miles has made it difficult.

Apart from Mauricio Soler did not start the stage due to discomfort caused by the fall of the first day, today's stage had no importance in the general. Alejandro Valverde suffered a crash at km 93 but not of more general than once. Murcia himself says "he has nothing important." It fell to go through a reflective of the road.

So, given that the general classification remains unchanged, as expected, as it was going to comment on the stage, which was finally consummated with the sprint as a second Oscar Freire and veteran Erik Zabel as the third stage. The British Cavendish clinched victory by a whisker, the getaway more than rivals in the sprint.

And the peloton on his laurels and the three escapees reached the last kilometer with a good chance of risking the stage between them. Vogondy had more forces, but could not withstand the speed of the squad that will neutralize the absence of 50 meters. Rowing to die on the shore.

Apart from the fall of Valverde, there was another rider to take a roundabout that lay on the ground. A woman was hit by another rider. Viewers do not learn as much as years pass.

Tomorrow, final height. There is a high mountain stage but the last mile, the 10% slope, is very hard.
