American Michael Phelps broke the Olympic record yesterday the first of these Games in the 400m medley in his first appearance in these games.
Things start well for Michael Phelps, a swimmer who participates in his third Olympics at the early age of 23 years. In fact, is the youngest swimmer to participate in the Games, with 15 years in Sydney 2000. This morning Phelps, in his first appearance in these games, ran the 400 meter freestyle in 4:07:82, improving his 4:08:26 in Athens 2004. The world record is 4:05:25. Michael Phelps addresses these Olympics with the goal for the second time, incredible beat the record of Mark Spitz, American swimmer at the 1972 Munich Olympics won seven gold medals. Michael Phelps won 6 in Athens 2004 and 2 bronze. This year we again hope to win eight gold medals in the following ways: 100m and 200m butterfly, 200m freestyle, 200m and 400m medley, 4 × 100 m freestyle, 4 × 200 freestyle and 4 × 100 m medley. Michael Phelps matched Mark Spitz and the world swimming in Melbourne, achieving seven gold medals, but wants to beat him in the Beijing Olympics. All a wonder of nature. Image: Flickr.com
