If we let ourselves be carried away by first impressions would gain continuously somewhere, but lost by others. A clear example is music. There are groups or specific records that need more than one sample to round cogiéndoles taste. The passage of time and experience tell us that we tend to be increasingly selective about what we hear, so that, generally, just risking little by the time of making our playlists. And all because once we gave a truce to a band and it turned out quite disappoint because of laziness or just being stronger than musical curiosity.

The album does not start this week as well for who will listen. If you have been told that Heartless Bastards is an American rock blues band you ask where is the spirit of his garage band next door, The Black Keys , with which we compare them both. "Marathon" is a first cut that looks more like the result of a mix of post rock band with a country singer. Its more than six minutes would test the most patient, but the song has something that says "keep listening".

And thank goodness you do, because from "Parted Ways" to "Simple Feeling" including, Erika Wennerstrom and the boys decide to press the overdrive button and squeeze well based. This really is blues rock, think many. The truth is that the Southern flair and skill of Erika's voice make it easy to enjoy the courts. In addition, there are dynamic arrays, a great sound and rock guitars. What more could you want?

Maybe it's the inconsistency that often take on missing disks that are flag of a particular style of music. Risk or innovate are also two valid words. They suddenly hear a "Skin and Bone" to leave you with my mouth open by the beginning with Latin percussion and then getting the flow with acoustic guitars and vocal melodies end up taunting a smile and a gesture of acceptance. Or a "The Arrow Killed The Beast" that could serve well for a Tarantino film: slide guitars that seem to mourn, acoustic guitars and a voice that ride halfway between the soul and blues that grabs you.

We could say that Arrow is an album with southern rock recipe ingredients but other styles. Some is released to invent new dishes, but not everyone is able to achieve a result as digestible as the Heartless Bastards. If you fancy having a good time listening to some good rock with a few tablespoons of country and a pinch of blues, do not miss what this set of Cincinnati just published.
