Four albums and ten years after its formation, the experimental music duo the Books has decided to put an end to his career. Something must have happen between Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong when you have had enough after the relative success achieved by a musical so bizarre.

The details of the "break" were not disclosed and why Pitchfork was able to speak with Nick to ask him about the reasons for separation. At the moment, seems unwilling to talk about:

Not good for anyone who give details of the case now, and if it did, it would be easy for me not to get angry. It is better to let it run for a while. I doubt that Paul and I go back to working together again, and unfortunately, we will remove the name of the group after the latest releases go on sale.

With the "latest releases" refers to a pair of disks with B-sides and instrumental tracks, a box with four pieces of the group and a DVD that will be published later this year. Moreover, there is very good adjectives that can define the end of this New York band. It just ended.

However, Nick Zammuto has applied the adage that "no ill wind that blows no good" and decided to found a new group called Zammuto and released their debut album on April 3 through Temporary Residence . In the new adventure will accompany guitarist / keyboardist / violinsta of the Books Direct, Gene Back, drummer Sean Dixon and his brother Mikey on bass. He will take care of the guitar and voice.

We can hear three songs from advancement in the official SoundCloud . The experimental bet remains the dominant feature of this new project. On the other hand, has some performances Zammuto and confirmed in the United States. More details on their official website .
