After Comic-Con in 2008, Francis Lawrence, director of the first delivery, announced that there would be a prequel to I am Legend in which also would have Will Smith as an actor, nothing more was heard of the project. Well, Warner has now finally confirmed through a spokesman that the project will be launched soon with production by Akiva Goldsman and Overbrook Entertainment's own Will Smith.

The most novel writer, Arash Amel, you have in your future be The Grace of Monaco Expatriate and will be in charge of the script and Francis Lawrence will again be behind the camera. The various means, let's be honest, not even agree on whether this will truly last a prequel in which the events will resume before the epidemic until the advent of this history or give a twist starting from the first version , 2007. The truth is that the latter would sound more outrageous when you consider that was the end but you never know with Hollywood.

The story is based on the play by Richard Matheson published in 1954 and tells of a scientist, Robert Neville, who has survived a pandemic after a bacteriological war that has turned most of humanity into vampires. The novel became very successful at the time by taking the mythical figure of the vampire and try to scientifically explain the reasons for their characteristics. And while I think the movie version left out the true essence of the book to focus more on a typically post-apocalyptic, there's no denying that the great global revenue generated by the film, almost a U.S. $ 585,349,000, gives a good start for bet on it again.

Will Smith has not yet confirmed their participation in the lead role but being behind the production hardly put yourself at risk for another face Neville. Currently acting after a hiatus of nearly three years, the actor is in post production Men in Black III while on Earth After shooting with his son Jaden under the direction of the ever loved or hated M. Night Shyamalan. It also was announced that there would also be a third film Bad Boys with the confirmation of the return of Martin Lawrence and the rumor that Michael Bay would direct.
