In 1994 he premiered Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, directed by Neil Jordan and starring Tom Cruise , Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas. This is the literary adaptation of the novel Interview with the Vampire, written in 1976 by Anne Rice. The book was the first of a series called The Vampire Diaries where Lestat de Lioncourt is almost always the protagonist. The film in its own right has become a modern classic, was a hit with critics and audiences, and even the author was pleased with the results on screen. In 2002 he opened The Queen of the Damned, which was based on the novel published in 1988. This time the address was provided by Michael Rymer and the cast was led by Stuart Townsend , Aaliyah, Marguerite Moreau Vincent Perez. Not as successful as its predecessor, perhaps because its hero was not so much charisma as Tom Cruise. Ten years have passed since the last film focused on Lestat, but again because Ron Howard and Brian Grazer (Imagine Entertainment) has acquired the rights to the fourth novel in the series entitled The Tale of the Body Thief (1992). The script is run by Lee Patterson exercise while producer Roberto Orci Alex Kurtzman with and Imagine Entertainment.
In this novel, Lestat tries to regain his humanity and he's tired of being a vampire. On your way you will meet old friends and enemies as Louis de Pointe du Lac-character played by Brad Pitt in the first film, 'Marius de Romanus, whom he portrayed Vincent Perez in the second movie, and David Talbot - Paul McGann in The Queen of the Damned. In their quest to recover a humanity that idealizes reach an agreement with Raglan James, a thief of bodies, who offers her body for the exchange of a young man in exchange for ten million dollars. Lestat accepts the deal without hesitation, as it is fed at night, blood and eternal life, which does not know is that Raglan intend to become immortal with his body. No word yet on whether Tom Cruise will resume a role that allowed him to consolidate as one of the biggest stars of the nineties. Surely no one wants to see Stuart Townsend in the role of Lestat, and in recent years, Anne Rice, the author, said he would like Robert Downey Jr became his favorite vampire. What do you think Lestat back to the big screen? I like the idea, I'm a big fan of the novels and I love what Tom Cruise did with the paper. No he will not be the same but it would be interesting to see Robert Downey Jr playing a vampire. Do you think of other actors to give life to this immortal?
