Oreocereus, cactus to plant in winter. Oreocereus is a cactus stem elongated, and is one of the plants grow more common cacti. Oreocereus seed is planted in winter and spring, although there are other breeding methods that allow for planting all year round.

The cultivation of Oreocereus is pretty easy. It can be grown in pots or in garden soil, which must be clayey-sandy and very permeable. Flowering occurs in spring and summer.

The multiplication takes place in winter in the nursery and seed-protected, or in spring. It can also play for all year by separating the suckers that appear at the base of large cactus. The rooting of the shoots is very easy.

The Oreocereus takes many years to grow potted soil and grown without difficulty. Requires a sunny exposure, even in very hot weather better maintained partial shade. This cactus requires little watering. For flowering occurs requires temperatures between 25 ° and 15 ° C.
